August 13, 2024 – The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit (HKPR District Health Unit) is issuing an alert due to a notable increase in suspected opioid drug poisonings in Northumberland County.
August 12, 2024 – As students gear up for the new school year, the HKPR District Health Unit is thrilled to announce the launch of a new online Immunization Update Portal, offering a simple and convenient way for parents and guardians to upload their children’s immunization records directly to the Health Unit.
August 6, 2024 – The HKPR District Health Unit is advising the public that a mosquito pool tested positive for West Nile Virus (WNV) in the Brighton area. This marks the first positive case in the region for the season. The mosquito was collected from one of the traps set by health officials on August 1st, 2024.
