June 21, 2024 — The HKPR District Health Unit is advising that the Heat Warning Alert issued on June 17, 2024 and the Extended Heat Warning Alert issued on June 19, 2024 for the County of Haliburton, City of Kawartha Lakes and Northumberland County has ended effective today.
June 18, 2024— The HKPR District Health Unit is informing the City of Kawartha Lakes and Northumberland County that aSpecial Air Quality Statement has been issued by Environment Canada as the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) will reach a level of 7, indicating high air pollution levels due to hot and sunny conditions.
