Community outbreaks refer to the rapid spread of infectious diseases within a specific population or geographical area. These outbreaks can arise from various sources, such as contaminated food, water, or close contact between individuals.
Holiday Office Closure
HKPR offices are closed December 24th, December 25th, December 26th, December 31st, and January 1st. Staff are NOT monitoring outbreaks@hkpr.on.ca during this time.
Please call the health unit's emergency response line at 1-888-255-7839, if you need to report a reportable disease or outbreak when the offices are closed.

Below, you'll find links to the most current outbreak information within the Health Unit's jurisdiction. This list is continuously updated to ensure you have access to the latest data whenever significant changes occur, including when:
- A new outbreak is declared
- A causative agent is identified
- An outbreak is officially declared over
Please note that outbreaks will remain listed on the website for five days after being declared over, allowing for continued awareness and monitoring.
