Mental Health Supports

Mental health support encompasses a wide range of services, resources, and interventions designed to help individuals maintain and improve their mental and emotional well-being. It includes various forms of assistance and guidance provided to individuals who may be experiencing mental health challenges or seeking to maintain good mental health. At the HKPR District Health Unit, we do not provide treatment or counselling for mental concerns or diagnosed mental illnesses. We will listen and work with you to best meet your needs. We will help to find and connect you with community resources based on what you identify as a priority.

Support is a call or click away

Finding the right service to fit your needs can sometimes take time. There are telephone crisis and support lines, options for meeting a counsellor face-to-face, virtually, or in a group setting. There are online supports and there are programs where you work on materials at your own pace with support from a mental health professional.

Please see the mental health services and supports listed below for your reference. Additionally, don't hesitate to consult your healthcare professional or primary care provider for recommendations on local service providers.

Everyone deserves support.
